Day 131 - May 11

It's the last day of work for me this week.... so time to be happy... my comfort food... McDonalds!
















Day 132 - May 12

Off to Singapore for a vacation for one week... So happy, the flight attendant is Gerard's neigbor.. we had a picture in the cockpit with the pilot and co-pilot :)









Day 133 - May 13

Marina Bay Sands experience... it is the newest attraction in Singapore... we just strolled around the mall, ate dinner, took pictures and watched the lights show by the bay...

Day 134 - May 14

We want to experience Hollywood after hours so we went to USS via boardwalk. It is the newest way to go to USS or Sentosa. It  features canopy-covered travellators, F&B and retail will let you take leisurely strolls to Sentosa/USS.








Day 135 - May 15

It is like our usual Sunday... we had mass, lunch then shopping... I now have a new favorite store -- Uni Qlo! I was able to buy a shirt and a capri pants... :) yippee for retail therapy! :)









Day 136 - May 16

We went to Singapore Botanic Garden... nice place to relax and of course to take some pictures... :)

Day 137 - May 17




Happy happy day! It's my mom's birthday! :) We had lunch at Czzar. It's like my birthday because my wish was granted.... salted egg crab... super y-u-m-m-y!!!

Now it's time to leave SG... goodbye Singapore... I do not know if I will still see you again... hay...









Day 139 - May 19
Of course, since we are back... we went to duty free to shop for chocolates! :)














Day 140 - May 20

I found sweet treat in my mom's refrigerator... one of my many favorites... pastillas! :)

Here's another recipe of my lovey hubby Gerard. I’m so sorry but we don't have the exact measurements of the ingredients. What you need: Cream Dory fish or any white fish fillet Salt Pepper Magic Sarap Dried basil leaves Flour Lemon juice or calamansi juice Butter Olive Oil Fresh parsley for garnishing What to do:   Make sure your fish fillet is thawed (if using frozen) and the skin surface is dry. You can use a paper towel to dab the fish. Season fish with salt, pepper, magic sarap and dried basil. Note: we used freshly cracked sea salt* and pepper because we think that it gives more flavor. But I guess, normal salt and pepper will do. Magic sarap and dried basil will give an extra flavor and a hint of herb taste. Then brush the seasoned fish with flour. Make sure to put just enough flour. Brush off the excess. In a frying pan, melt the butter together with the olive oil in medium heat. Once brown, fry the fish fillet for 1-2 minutes each side or unt

Wee Nam Kee -- a taste of Singaporean Cuisine

My brother in-law would like his dad to have a taste of authentic Singaporean food… and of course the first thing that comes to our mind when we talk about Singaporean Food is no other than “Hainanese Chicken Rice”… Though Hainanese Chicken Rice originated from Hainan, China, it has now also found its home in Singapore as their national dish due to immigration. It is also known as Singaporean Chicken Rice it is served either steamed or roasted. Fortunately, we now have Wee Nam Kee restaurant here in the Philippines. They actually opened late last year and I have read several blogs about it. Wee Nam Kee has made its name originally in Singapore as a top contender for serving the best Hainanese chicken rice alongside Boon Tong Kee and Tian Tian. As I have read in one of the blogs, all their ingredients are sourced locally.  Their secret is that the chickens are freshly delivered everyday from 3 small farm suppliers that alternate delivery. This is one of the toastmaster speech I delivered a few days before Valentine's day last year. ========== Good afternoon.   February 14 is a red-letter day for many people. This is the day most people look forward to, especially for the lovers.   But for me, this is just an ordinary day, nothing special,   for I   do not believe in celebrating Valentine’s Day. In fact,   I feel awkward to stand in front of you   to deliver a valentine’s speech.   Yes, you guess it right – I am the   scrooge of Valentines.   But before you raise your eyebrows and give me a piercing look, allow me to state my reasons … First, for me, the origins of Valentines day is not clear. The holiday appears to be   named after two      early Christian martyrs named Valentine of Rome and Valentine of Terni. Valentine of Rome [9] was a priest in Rome while Valentine of Terni became bishop of Interamna   and both were martyred and buried on the Via Flaminia .
