Chicken Cheese Burgers

Image
Gerard is the official cook in the house... so I just want to share one of the recipes he tried... http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1639,154191-235192,00.html Chicken Cheese Burger 3 c. ground raw chicken 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1 sm. onion, finely chopped 2 tbsp. fine dry bread crumbs 2 tbsp. minced fresh parsley 1 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. white pepper 1/4 tsp. dried oregano leaves 2 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 4 (1 oz.) slices American or Cheddar cheese Mix chicken, eggs, onion, bread crumbs, parsley, Parmesan cheese, salt, baking soda, pepper, and oregano in large bowl. Shape mixture into 4 round patties. Heat butter and oil in large skillet over medium-low heat until butter melts; add patties. Cook until golden, 4 to 5 minutes on each side. Place 1 slice cheese on top of each patty. Cover skillet; cook until cheese melts, about 1 minute. Instead of putting the burgers in normal buns, we opted for burger with rice.Yummy!

Sports and Me

Image
Sharing another Toastmaster's Speech... ======= Sports and Me. I have admiration for sports legend, the likes of Tiger Woods for golf, Maria Sharapova or Roger Federer, for tennis, National Pride – Manny Pacquiao for boxing, and yes, our very own, Richard Daza, for basketball. But that is the “be all and end all” of sports for me.   Yes, you are correct.   There is no trace of athletic blood   in my vein. Since Physical Education is always part of the curriculum in school, I cannot avoid but engaged in sports, but to no avail; I was always a mediocre. I think the old cliché – “Try and try until you succeed”   is not applicable to sports and me. I never excelled in any field and passed the subjects for my efforts and, of course, for making good in the written examinations. For example, playing volleyball becomes an earthquake drill whenever it’s time for me to serve the ball. They have to duck and cover because the ball goes everywhere and you’ll never know if it will hit you.

I Still Date My Ex-GF -- Bo Sanchez

Just sharing an article sent by my officemate... Thanks Jaz!   =================== I Still Date My Ex-GF by Bo Sanchez on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 11:22pm Call Me Crazy,  But She Still Makes My Heart Go Pumpity-Pump I’m not giving you my usual 8-page article today. Because today is Valentines, let me resurrect an article I wrote about my Ex-GF. After 12.5 years of marriage, I’m still crazy for this special woman. I realize that being with her is my little piece of heaven on earth. Here’s my proof: So far, I’ve had 652 romantic dates with my wife. (Yes, my wife. What were you thinking? She’s my ex-girlfriend, right?) That’s once per week for almost 12.5 beautiful years.  And I’ve loved every single one of them.  Our date night is sacred. Unless it’s an invitation from the President of the Republic, I say no to all invitations and meetings. Our marriage is what it is today because of those precious 652 dates. Call me corny. Call me deluded. Call me in denial. But I really love

Not so typical valentines speech

Image
This is one of the toastmaster speech I delivered a few days before Valentine's day last year. ========== Good afternoon.   February 14 is a red-letter day for many people. This is the day most people look forward to, especially for the lovers.   But for me, this is just an ordinary day, nothing special,   for I   do not believe in celebrating Valentine’s Day. In fact,   I feel awkward to stand in front of you   to deliver a valentine’s speech.   Yes, you guess it right – I am the   scrooge of Valentines.   But before you raise your eyebrows and give me a piercing look, allow me to state my reasons … First, for me, the origins of Valentines day is not clear. The holiday appears to be   named after two      early Christian martyrs named Valentine of Rome and Valentine of Terni. Valentine of Rome [9] was a priest in Rome while Valentine of Terni became bishop of Interamna   and both were martyred and buried on the Via Flaminia . In the 1969 revision of the Roman Catholic Calenda

It’s a wide world - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos Jenni Epperson: Philippine Daily Inquirer column: Wide-leg pants Last year, I already heard that wide leg pants are coming back... But I guess people became obsessed with skinny jeans that they try to make the come back subtle... Now it is soooo back.... I am very much delightful because I am always a fan of these kind of pants because I believe it's flattering on me... it totally fits my body frame! Unfortunately, only a few stores offer these kind of pants such as Dorothy Perkins, Marks & Spencer and Debenhams... So now that they are back on fashion mainstream, I guess I will have more choices! Goodbye skinny jeans.. welcome back - wide leg trousers! :)

Gerard & I

Gerard: Nangigigil ako sa ‘yo! Bubbles: Bakit? Because I am cute? Adorable? Gerard: Hindi. Gusto kitang sapakin! Bubbles: Nyah! Yes, my husband is sweet. Brutally sweet if I may say. Hehehe J We’ve been married for 2 years and 5 months already and since we still have no baby, most of the times, we still goof and play around the house. We act like kids playing bahay-bahayan. J We find ways to enjoy our moments of being together in the house, as husband and wife, as bestfriends, as playmates, or simply being “us”. We have our assigned roles in the house, he is the official cook while I am the official baker. I wash the cups, glasses and plates, while he is assigned to wash the pots and pans. I am assigned to segregate the dirty clothes while he is assigned to bring the laundry to my mom’s house. I will remove the old bedsheets, pillowcases and comforter while he is the one who puts the new beddings.   We also find ways to enjoy “me-time”.   There are times that I would catch Gerard
