We got an excellent score from a customer's audit... So we had a pizza treat from Ma'am Naty! Thanks and congratulations to TQPH! :)


Day 83 March 25

We sponsored the 12th station of the Cross --  Another way to prepare ourselves for Lent. It also became an opportunity for me to meet some of our neighbors.

Earth hour! It is so good to see that even establishments and restaurants participated in the Earth Hour.

Family day -- My lola is so proud of her new garden umbrella... perfect for summer! :)

Black day Monday -- Black is the color of the day... here is a picture of me and my officemates in black... with our beauty queen in the middle... our very own Venus Raj! :)

I got an email from a purchasing guy from one of our subcontractors.. he said that my name is familiar... he asked if I worked for Zilog before... Though I do not know the guy personally, I was flattered because he recognized my name... Indeed it's a small world after all... :)

Summer is officially here... aside from the sun, sand and seas... summer in the philippines is also about eating mangoes with bagoong (shrimp paste) or singkamas with bagoong... y-u-m-m-y!!!

Here's another recipe of my lovey hubby Gerard. I’m so sorry but we don't have the exact measurements of the ingredients. What you need: Cream Dory fish or any white fish fillet Salt Pepper Magic Sarap Dried basil leaves Flour Lemon juice or calamansi juice Butter Olive Oil Fresh parsley for garnishing What to do:   Make sure your fish fillet is thawed (if using frozen) and the skin surface is dry. You can use a paper towel to dab the fish. Season fish with salt, pepper, magic sarap and dried basil. Note: we used freshly cracked sea salt* and pepper because we think that it gives more flavor. But I guess, normal salt and pepper will do. Magic sarap and dried basil will give an extra flavor and a hint of herb taste. Then brush the seasoned fish with flour. Make sure to put just enough flour. Brush off the excess. In a frying pan, melt the butter together with the olive oil in medium heat. Once brown, fry the fish fillet for 1-2 minutes each side or unt

Wee Nam Kee -- a taste of Singaporean Cuisine

My brother in-law would like his dad to have a taste of authentic Singaporean food… and of course the first thing that comes to our mind when we talk about Singaporean Food is no other than “Hainanese Chicken Rice”… Though Hainanese Chicken Rice originated from Hainan, China, it has now also found its home in Singapore as their national dish due to immigration. It is also known as Singaporean Chicken Rice it is served either steamed or roasted. Fortunately, we now have Wee Nam Kee restaurant here in the Philippines. They actually opened late last year and I have read several blogs about it. Wee Nam Kee has made its name originally in Singapore as a top contender for serving the best Hainanese chicken rice alongside Boon Tong Kee and Tian Tian. As I have read in one of the blogs, all their ingredients are sourced locally.  Their secret is that the chickens are freshly delivered everyday from 3 small farm suppliers that alternate delivery. This is one of the toastmaster speech I delivered a few days before Valentine's day last year. ========== Good afternoon.   February 14 is a red-letter day for many people. This is the day most people look forward to, especially for the lovers.   But for me, this is just an ordinary day, nothing special,   for I   do not believe in celebrating Valentine’s Day. In fact,   I feel awkward to stand in front of you   to deliver a valentine’s speech.   Yes, you guess it right – I am the   scrooge of Valentines.   But before you raise your eyebrows and give me a piercing look, allow me to state my reasons … First, for me, the origins of Valentines day is not clear. The holiday appears to be   named after two      early Christian martyrs named Valentine of Rome and Valentine of Terni.
