Mike&Majo's Wedding 09.18.10

I love attending weddings. It is so nice to witness the profession of love of two people. They enter the church as two people with separate lives and will leave the church as one, starting their journey through married life. Last Saturday, we attended the wedding of one of the close friends of Gerard—Majo Joaquin. Their wedding was held at Tagaytay highlands so as expected, it was a lovely wedding. I enjoyed the homily of the priest because it was already like the profession of vows since he asked the couple if they are really in love with each other. The priest said that in a marriage, there will always be a third party that will rock the marriage. This third party should always be God. He should always be present to have a solid foundation. It was a refreshing idea and a good reminder for married couples like us to put God in the center of our relationship.

Anyway, the wedding was also unique and cool in a lot of ways, here are the reasons why....

1)    Attire:
The attire specified in the invitation is “casual chic” and the requirement for the male is as follows: coat and tie, maong jeans and a pair of chuck taylor.

2)    Bridal Car
The lovely bride used a white Volkswagen as her bridal car.

3)    “Grand Exit”
After the wedding, everyone positioned at the church door with prepared flower petals to shower the newly weds upon their exit. The newly weds rushed to the exit… unexpectedly, the bride slipped and fell at the steps of the church! Fortunately, nothing happened to the bride and it seemed that it was part of the show. The bride maintained her poise and undeniably, she was still the most beautiful woman that day. J

4)    Newly weds transportation
Instead of using the bridal car as transportation to the reception area, the newly weds rode a motorcycle… it was so cool as they did not mind their formal get-up…

Cocktails were served at the reception area since the formal dinner was served at around 7 PM. Though I cannot pronounce most of the items in the menu… I really enjoyed the food! Hehehe J

Also, I am happy to be able to meet the other friends of my husband. So good food + good company = awesome experience! J

So over-all, the wedding was great! It was such an honor to be part of their big day. Thank you Mike and Majo! Congratulations and best wishes! JJJ
