Giulia - our forever princess

Image
Giulia pronounced as jee-yo-liah... this is an italian name which means youthful, as I know she will be forever our princess as she is our first-born daughter. She is very precious and truly an answered prayer to us. We have been praying for so long to have a child and so happy after 3 years, we were able to have our precious Giulia. As she celebrates her 11th birthday, we have this special message for you: To our dear Giulia, Happy birthday! We are so blessed to have you as our daughter.... you know that we have been waiting for so long to have a baby and truly, you are a manifestation of God's perfect timing. As soon as we found out that my due date was Dec 31, we were already praying that you do not come out when people already are celebrating the end of the year and welcoming another year.  We did not know that when we were praying to have a child, God already gave us a clue as to when he will grant our wish. There is the picture of our Lady of Guadalupe at the top of our...

My Simple Wish on my birthday

Image
Flashback to years ago, during the time when Gerard was still courting me, he asked what I want for my birthday and I told him - I want the small, powder- blue Lacoste bag. I also told him the things that I will do on that day - from attending mass early morning- going to office the whole day etc…  I am sure he bought the bag - the only surprise will be the time on when he will give it. He did not know that I planned my whole get up - from clothes to shoes to match that bag. My birthday came- he attended mass with me, but the question is- did he give me the bag? No.  So I went to the office- they planned a little surprise and ask Gerard to come over. Of course, he then showed up with  flowers… such a sweet gesture I must say. But did he give me the bag? still no.  So imagine, I wore matching outfit and shoes but no bag to matched with. So when my day was about to end, I went home and changed to my sleeping clothes. Only then Gerard went to the house to give the gift-...

Birthday, birthday, what a happy day! :)

I used to have my birthday parties at home. I can still remember days before my birthday, we would go to Goldilocks to order the cake of my choice. I will then go shopping to find the perfect birthday dress for the party. On my birthday, everyone will be busy preparing for the party. Nanay nene will cook the spaghetti, mommy will prepare the fruit salad, lumpiang shanghai, chicken lollipop and all other food prepared in a typical children party. My mom would also prepare the fruit punch which is a staple in an 80's party. We also have parlor games such as pabitin, coke drinking contest, longest line, musical chairs etc. Therefore I always look forward to my birthday... Because I know it will be special. But of course, when we get older, especially during our teenage years, our perception on things and occasions changes. We find it baduy to have parties with games. We just treat our friends out or if we do have parties at home, it will be different....

Tony Roma's: Best Ribs in Town! :)

Image
It's already a tradition for Gerard and I to go to Tony Roma's ATC during our birthdays... it is our special restaurant.. (our normal restaurant is Italiannis.. by the way) Anyway, for us, Tony Roma's has the best ribs in town! It is like Racks because the meat falls off the bone... but it's better because it is more leaner and more flavorful... mmmm....yummy! :) So of course, since we are just two, we decided to get the BBQ Chicken and Ribs Combo. It comes with a soup of your choice and 2 side dishes. Now allow me to be a restaurant critic as I try to evaluate each item, one by one... Disclaimer: I am not an expert on this, everything is just based on my personal opinion, I am not in anyway an endorser of the said restaurant. Food: 1) Bread -- this is also one of the reasons why we keep on coming back... it's was served warm, crunchy on the outside, so soft in the inside... went well with the herbed butter spread... 2) Soup -- I was presented with 2 choic...
