Project 365: Third week of May

May 14 – Today is Mother’s Day … and since we just came back from Tagaytay, cannot miss to document or take picture with my mom today (even if she does not like 😊 hehehe 😊 ) May 15 – Gavin now has Frisbee training every Monday and Wednesday. Since his practice is on a field, Gerard has nowhere to sit down so here I am doing online window shopping for portable chairs. 😊 May 16 – A day  before my mom’s  birthday, finally we were able to convince Gavin to prepare a dance preparation… so here is a screenshot from his dance. May 17 – Today is my mom’s 75 th birthday! Even if it is a weekday and I have meetings the whole day, made an effort to go to early mass and have breakfast with my mom, of course with my sister. May 18 – Today is Gavin’s first day with his “appliance” – something that he has to put inside his mouth to correct his “overbite” so documenting here – his first day 😊 May 19 – Now it’s time to have a party for my mom’s 75 th birthday! 😊 My mom is so...

On Being the Best Mom Part 2

In September 2020 still at the height of the pandemic and most people are staying at home, I felt the "mom-guilt" on not being able to be the best mom. At that time, we still have a helper who prepares the food for my children. I am also at home but I spend most of my time in front of my laptop, similar to my set-up in the office.  But since at that time, it seems that there are no plans yet for kids to go back to online classes and I am still working from home, I decided to let go of our helper by December 2020. I am happy that my kids enjoyed all those Filipino dishes. But of course, still I am working from home, there are times that I don't have much time to prepare food so of course, there are days...

I am a working mom. All my life, I have an 8-5 (or actually sometimes 7-6 PM) job every weekdays. My kids now are aged 8 and 6. Since both are already in school, I just have time to help them in their school work when I go home from work. During weekends, we go to the malls and eat outside as our way to bond with our kids. My kids look forward to weekends since there's no school nor work. When I look at social media and see the stay-at-home moms with children being with them 24/7. I sometimes feel guilty. They get to cook food or prepare their "baon" or snack for school. They have time to bring their school to children then they have more time to guide and teach them after school. Now that there is a pandemic, like most people are, I have been at home since March. I am working from home and I can say I now have time with my children. Now I see in social media, the used-to-be working moms are now able to do the things that they wished they will be able to do for their chil...
