On Being the Best Mom Part 2

Image
In September 2020 still at the height of the pandemic and most people are staying at home, I felt the "mom-guilt" on not being able to be the best mom. At that time, we still have a helper who prepares the food for my children. I am also at home but I spend most of my time in front of my laptop, similar to my set-up in the office.  But since at that time, it seems that there are no plans yet for kids to go back to online classes and I am still working from home, I decided to let go of our helper by December 2020. By January 2021, I am the only one in-charge in our house... I became a stay-at-home mom and a working mom at the same time. Thanks to You Tube, I learned to cook simple Filipino dishes such as Sinigang na Hipon, Nilagang Baka, Ginisang Sayote, Monggo and of course, Adobo. I am happy that my kids enjoyed all those Filipino dishes. But of course, still I am working from home, there are times that I don't have much time to prepare food so of course, there are days...

19th Anniversary

Image
Oct 1, 2003 – This is the day that I have said ‘yes’ to Gerard… yes to becoming her girlfriend… even if he did not formally asked… hahaha! 😊 So when he heard me say ‘yes’ he actually got confused because he was not even asking… but of course, he was so elated to hearing me say yes to him. So now as we celebrate our 19 th anniversary as boyfriend-girlfriend… let me share 10 trivia questions and our answers: 1)      Where was your first meeting place? – Gerard said she already saw me the first time I attended the Christian Life Program for Singles For Christ and in fact he even said that he was the one who handed my ID… but of course I don’t remember…. But eventually I get to notice him in the events for Singles For Christ. 2)       Where did you have your first date – If ever we are asked about this… we already have an agreement to say that our first official date is in Italiannis in Greenbelt Makati. But of course, the truth is that we h...

I am grateful

A wise man said “Forget about aging gracefully; focus instead on aging gratefully.” This is so true because as we age, we begin to appreciate all the blessings that God continues to bestow upon us. Some might have seen in my previous post that my birthday this year is something I did not plan nor expect. Our whole family is isolated/quarantined as we are all positive for Covid 19. But God is so giving that he sent messages and angels to make me feel special on my birthday. Blessings started to pour in even a day before my birthday and you can read it in my previous post. But of course since God is so generous, it did not end there.  As I was about to close this blog, I happened to browse one of my old blog entries dated Oct 22, 2022. Just a bit of history, my dad died on Oct 22, 2010. But a year after, god gave us our princess- Giulia. So in my blog post, 2 years after my dad passed- I wished for something…  I wished for a son for my sister and brother in law. I cannot r...

My Simple Wish on my birthday

Image
Flashback to years ago, during the time when Gerard was still courting me, he asked what I want for my birthday and I told him - I want the small, powder- blue Lacoste bag. I also told him the things that I will do on that day - from attending mass early morning- going to office the whole day etc…  I am sure he bought the bag - the only surprise will be the time on when he will give it. He did not know that I planned my whole get up - from clothes to shoes to match that bag. My birthday came- he attended mass with me, but the question is- did he give me the bag? No.  So I went to the office- they planned a little surprise and ask Gerard to come over. Of course, he then showed up with  flowers… such a sweet gesture I must say. But did he give me the bag? still no.  So imagine, I wore matching outfit and shoes but no bag to matched with. So when my day was about to end, I went home and changed to my sleeping clothes. Only then Gerard went to the house to give the gift-...

On being the best Mom

I am a working mom. All my life, I have an 8-5 (or actually sometimes 7-6 PM) job every weekdays. My kids now are aged 8 and 6. Since both are already in school, I just have time to help them in their school work when I go home from work. During weekends, we go to the malls and eat outside as our way to bond with our kids. My kids look forward to weekends since there's no school nor work. When I look at social media and see the stay-at-home moms with children being with them 24/7. I sometimes feel guilty. They get to cook food or prepare their "baon" or snack for school. They have time to bring their school to children then they have more time to guide and teach them after school. Now that there is a pandemic, like most people are, I have been at home since March. I am working from home and I can say I now have time with my children. Now I see in social media, the used-to-be working moms are now able to do the things that they wished they will be able to do for their chil...

Bubbly Blabber - Year 2020

It is 2020. A lot have changed. The online platforms are now booming. People are now into "vlogging" so you can just stream online videos and see posts of people sharing their life through social media.  Now I ask myself, should I also join the bandwagon?  Should I just do a vlog? But I guess not. Not now.  I am not a millenial and I am not that comfortable in sharing videos. But because this year is a very different year, I decided to go back to blogging. I want to document the things that are happening right now so when this is over, I can look back and be proud that we were able to get through this difficult year. So again, I welcome you all to "Bubbly Blabber".
