International Data Roaming Services from Globe

Are you the type of person who cannot live without internet?

Here are some indications that you are now an internet addict:

For example, the moment you wake up and the first thing you do is check your Facebook or Twitter account or any other social networking site...

Or if ever you're out, you feel the need to "check-in" via FB or Foursquare...

Or if you are workaholic and you feel the need to check your emails from time to time...

In this modern times, most of us (yes, I am included) are now hooked up in the world wide web. Whether we are at home or in other places... we feel incomplete or even helpless if we do not have internet access, especially now that our mobile phones are equipped with internet browsing capability.

But our problem now is the cost... of course, we do want to have internet access all the time but we do not want the sky-high phone bills..

More so for frequent travellers or jetsetters -- it is truly a nightmare when you see your monthly phone bills with all those additional international roaming charges...

Good thing that Globe understands our concerns and came up with these affordable unlimited data roaming charges...

Globe Telecom’s Bridge DataRoam Unlimited

This is applicable to the following countries:

Hong Kong (CSL), Singapore (Singtel), Thailand (AIS), Malaysia (Maxis), Macau (CTM), Australia (Optus), Taiwan (Taiwan Mobile), Indonesia (Telkomsel), India (Bharti Airtel), and South Korea (SK Telecom).

The cost is:
US$ 10 for 1 (one) day
US$ 27 for 3 (three) days
US$ 40 for 5 (five) days

All you have to do is text a message to 2884, depending on the country and service you want to avail.
For example, BDU Hong Kong 40 to have unlimited data roaming service for 5 days
Note that if you activate the unlimited data roaming service on the same day you signup, you don’t need to indicate the start date in the SMS format.

You can also text:

BDU[space]Country[space]Denomination[space]Start Date mm/dd/yyFor example, if you want to stay in Singapore from February 1-3, 2011 and want to avail Globe Telecom’s unlimited data roaming for 3 days – text

BDU Singapore 27 02/01/11 and send to 2884.

Other additional notes:
  1. This is only for data roaming; calls and sms/texts are still charged roaming rate. Please check with Globe before you leave.
  2. Save your confirmation message after subscribing so you have proof because most of the time when your bill arrives, the data roaming charges MAY appear in there so it’s better to have the info still in your phone.
  3. If you sign up for the unlimited data roaming while in abroad, your account will be charged for the transaction using the current roaming rates. So it’s better to signup while you’re still here in the country to avoid additional charges.
Then, if you are travelling to US or UK or Saudi Arabia, you have another option...

  5. Hello! I'm not sure on the data roaming for macau and hk... You can just call Globe Customer Service hotline: dial (02) 730-1000 from any land line phone in the Philippines or dial 211 toll-free access from your Globe mobile phone.
